Best Power Wheelchairs for Everyday Use
Short answer
We have not published results for this list yet. Chairs appear here only after we have measured them and both our test lead and clinical advisor have signed off. For daily use at home and around town, a chair needs enough range for a full day, safe braking, and the ability to handle ramps, curbs and doorways.
Who should look elsewhere?
If you need a chair you can lift into a car trunk by yourself, start with the travel list instead. If you need tilt, recline or custom seating for posture or pressure care, see a therapist first: those chairs need a clinical fitting.
How did we pick and score these chairs?
Every power wheelchair we have tested and published is on this list.
| Sub-score | Weight |
|---|---|
| Range | 25% |
| Braking | 25% |
| Maneuvering | 20% |
| Ramps and curbs | 15% |
| Portability | 15% |
Each sub-score comes from our measurements by a fixed formula. See the formulas.
